| General description: | Oncostatin M (OSM) is a growth-regulating cytokine produced by the activated T lymphocytes and macrophages. It has a pivotal role in stimulating the production of IL-6 in cultured human endothelial cells. It also facilitates the LDL receptor expression and its uptake by hepatoma cells. Further, OSM can induce synovial fibroblast-like cells to produce urokinase type plasminogen activator. Monoclonal anti-Oncostatin M antibody can be used for neutralizing the biological activity of rhOSM on the human TF-1 cell line. Mouse anti-Oncostatin M antibody reacts specifically with recombinant human OSM. The product has shown no cross-reactivity with recombinant human IL-6, IL-11, CNTF, LIF and recombinant mouse OSM. |
