Application: Proflavine hemisulfate salt hydrate has been used to stain cells of the 1483 cell line. It has also been used as a calibrating dye in fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) analysis.
General description: Proflavine is a small, amphipathic, acridine-derived fluorescent dye.Proflavine hemisulfate is used as a rapid stain for cytological studies of biological specimens. It stains cytoplasmic structures and nuclei. Proflavine has the capability to intercalate double stranded DNA.
