Immunogen: The epitope recognized by PLA0010 maps to a region between residue 1075 and the C-terminus (residue 1118) of human Regulator of Nonsense Transcripts 1 (up-frameshift mutation 1 homolog) using the numbering given in entry NP_002902.2 (GeneID 5976).
Other Notes: RENT1, also known as UPF1, is a key regulator of the nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) pathway. The NMD pathway eliminates mRNAs that prematurely terminate during translation and may serve to protect the cells from dominant-negative effects of truncated proteins, or as a means to regulate protein expression. RENT1 is an ATP-dependent 5’- 3’ RNA helicase and ATPase that localizes to the cytoplasm and is part of a post-splicing multiprotein complex as well as an mRNA decay complex.
