Immunoprecipitation Rabbit Anti-GTF2B/TFIIB Antibody, Affinity Purified: Cat. No. PLA0271: Detection of Human GTF2B/TFIIB by Western Blot of Immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from Jurkat cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified Rabbit Anti-GTF2B/TFIIB Antibody Cat. No. PLA0271 used for IP at 3 μg/mg lysate. TFIIB was also immunoprecipitated by Rabbit Anti-GTF2B/TFIIB Antibody B, which recognizes a downstream epitope. For blotting immunoprecipitated GTF2B/TFIIB, PLA0271 was used at 1 μg/mL. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 seconds.

Immunogen: The epitope recognized by PLA0271 maps to a region between residue 100 and 150 of human General Transcription Factor IIB using the numbering given in entry NP_001505.1 (GeneID 2959).
Other Notes: GTF2B/TFIIB (General transcription factor IIB) is one of the ubiquitous factors required for transcription initiation by RNA polymerase II. GTF2B/TFIIB localizes to the nucleus where it forms a complex (the DAB complex) with transcription factors IID and IIA. Transcription factor IIB serves as a bridge between IID, the factor which initially recognizes the promoter sequence, and RNA polymerase II [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 2959)].
