| Biochem/physiol Actions: | C-C motif chemokine ligand 18 (CCL18) has immunological functions and is associated with tumor progression. It is secreted by tumor associated macrophages (TAMs). The protein recruits naive T-cells and dendritic cells, and induces regulatory T-cells. It also acts as a chemokine for helper T lymphocytes and cytotoxic T lymphocytes. CCL18 has been implicated in the pathogenesis of many cancers. |
