| Application: | Human SHBG/Sex Hormone-binding Globulin ELISA Kit has been used to measure serum sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) in whole blood samples. It has also been used to quantify SHBG in maternal peripheral and umbilical cord blood. |
| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Serum sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) can bind and transport sex steroids and aid in modulating their biological active fraction. Direct action of SHBG modulates sex steroid actions in target cells. A low level of SHBG is detected in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The SHBG ELISA kit can be used for the quantitative measurement of sex hormone-binding globulin in cell culture supernatants, plasma and serum. |
