They are the constituents of G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) and the synaptic multiprotein complex. α-Spectrin has 20 spectrin repeats (α1-α20) and β-spectrin has 17 spectrin repeats (β1-β17). SPTA1 (spectrin α 1) is located on chromosome 1q21–q23 and SPTB (spectrin β) is located on chromosome 14q22–q23.2. |
