It is mainly involved in the reversible conversion of glucose 1-phosphate and glucose 6-phosphate. It also participates in protein N-glycosylation. Deficiency of PGM1 has been associated with metabolic disorders, such as hepatopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy and exercise intolerance. |
