Immunohistochemistry MCT1 antibody [GT14612] detects MCT1 protein at weak membrane and strong cytosol on human colon carcinoma by immunohistochemical analysis. Sample: Paraffin-embedded human colon carcinoma. MCT1 antibody [GT14612] (SAB2702323) dilution: 1:500.
Immunofluorescence MCT1 antibody [GT14612] detects MCT1 protein at cell membrane by immunofluorescent analysis. Sample: THP-1 cells were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde at RT for 15 min. Green: MCT1 protein stained by MCT1 antibody [GT14612] (SAB2702323) diluted at 1:500. Blue: Hoechst 33342 staining. Scale bar = 10 μm.
Western Blotting MCT1 antibody detects MCT1 protein by western blot analysis. Whole cell extracts (30 μg) was separated by 10% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with MCT1 antibody (SAB2702323) diluted by 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-mouse IgG antibody was used to detect the primary antibody.

Biochem/physiol Actions: The SLC16A1 gene encodes a monocarboxylate transporter (MCT1) that mediates the movement of lactate and pyruvate across cell membranes Import and export of these substrates by tissues such as erythrocytes, muscle, intestine, and kidney are ascribed largely to the action of a proton-coupled MCT (Garcia et al., 1994 [PubMed 8124722]).[supplied by OMIM]
