It is highly methylated in the placental tissue of preeclampsia patients. CUEDC1 is suggested to control trophoblast invasion by participating in the TGF (transforming growth factor)-β/Smad (mothers against decapentaplegic homolog) signaling pathway. The gene is mapped to human chromosome 17q23. |
