Application: Anti-ZIP8 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunocytochemistry.
Biochem/physiol Actions: Solute carrier family 39 member 8 (SLC39A8) co-transports divalent metal cations like cadmium, zinc, manganese and iron. It has a crucial role in the cellular uptake of cadmium. The protein is a target of nuclear-factor κB (NF-κB) and has a role in pro-inflammatory responses.
