It is expressed on tumor-associated macrophages in tumor tissues. The protein acts as a signal transducer. SIGLEC15 associates with the adaptor protein DNAX activation protein of 12kDa (DAP12) and transduces a signal to spleen tyrosine kinase (Syk). |

This type-I transmembrane protein possesses two immunoglobulin-like domains, a transmembrane domain and a short cytoplasmic tail. The SIGLEC15 gene is localized on human chromosome 18q12.3. |
