| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Anti-ALIX (C-terminal) recognizes human and mouse ALIX. |
| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Apoptosis-linked gene 2-interacting protein X (ALIX) protein binds to endophilin proteins that regulate membrane shape during endocytosis. Over-expression of the ALIX gene and endophilin leads to cytoplasmic vacuolization, which may be a reason for protection against cell death. |
| Biochem/physiol Actions: | PDCD6IP (programmed cell death 6 interacting protein) interacts with PDCD6, a protein involved in apoptosis. It also participates in intraluminal endosomal vesicle biogenesis, viral budding and cytokinetic abscission. PDCD6IP is a part of the ESCRT (endosomal sorting complexes required for transport) machinery. |

| General description: | The gene PDCD6IP (programmed cell death 6 interacting protein), also known as ALIX (apoptosis-linked gene 2-interacting protein X), is mapped to human chromosome 3p22.1 The protein has a crescent-shaped Bro1 domain, V-shaped V domain and a proline-rich region. |
| Immunogen: | peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminal region of human ALIX/ PDCD6IP, conjugated to KLH. The corresponding sequence is identical in mouse, pig, monkey, bovine and dog and differs by a single amino acid in rat. |
| Physical form: | Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide. |
| Preparation Note: | For continuous use, store at 2-8°C for up to one month. For extended storage freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours. |
