| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Monoclonal Anti-THY1 recognizes human, rat and mouse Thy-1. |
| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Thy-1 cell surface antigen (THY1) has a role in the activation of T-cells, release of neurotransmitters at synapses, enhancement of adhesion of astrocytes, wound healing, fibrogenesis and tumor suppression. It also plays an important role in cell migration and cytoskeletal reorganization. |
| Biochem/physiol Actions: | THY-1 is also involved in the inhibition of neurite outgrowth, apoptotic signaling, leukocyte and melanoma cell adhesion and migration and fibroblast proliferation and migration. This protein plays a role as a mediator of cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. Thy-1 is a cell surface marker in identifying local and circulating liver cancer stem cells. This protein′s expression can be regulated by the epigenetic mechanism of promoter region methylation, in which down-regulation of Thy-1 is associated with a more invasive/metastatic clinical phenotype. |

| General description: | Monoclonal Anti-THY1 (mouse IgG1 isotype) is derived from the hybridoma TH350 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the N-terminus of human THY1, conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH). Monoclonal Anti-THY1 recognizes human, rat and mouse Thy-1. Thy-1 cell surface antigen (THY1) is a glycoprotein that is expressed on the membranes of adult cells, mesenchymal stromal cells and cancer cells. It has a molecular weight of about 25-37kDa. The gene encoding THY1 is localized on human chromosome 11q23.3. |
| General description: | THY-1 is expressed in various cell types, including human fibroblasts, neurons, blood stem cells and endothelial cells as well as murine T cells. |
| Immunogen: | synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the N-terminus of human THY1, conjugated to KLH. |
| Physical form: | Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide. |
| Preparation Note: | For extended storage, freeze at -20 0C in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing,or storage in “frost-free” freezers,is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours. |
