Enhanced Validation-By Independent Antibodies Immunohistochemistry. Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded Human Appendix sections stained with 1:40 Anti-Desmin antibody produced in Rabbit (Cat. No. D8281) (A). The antibody was developed using Anti-Rabbit IgG (whole molecule)-FITC antibody produced in Goat (Cat. No. F9887), and 5 μg/mL Anti-Desmin antibody, Mouse monoclonal, Clone: DE-U-10 (Cat. No. SAB4200707) (B). The antibody was developed using Rabbit Anti-Mouse IgG-Cy3 conjugate antibody. Results Two Anti-Desmin antibodies, D8281 (A) and SAB4200707 (B), target different regions of Desmin show similar staining profiles between the two antibodies, demonstrating Independent Antibody Verification.
Immunohistochemistry Staining of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human appendix sections with 2 μg/mL Anti-Desmin antibody, Mouse monoclonal, Clone: DE-U-10 (Cat. No. SAB4200707). The antibody was developed using goat-Anti-Mouse IgG, Cy3™ conjugate.
Immunofluorescence C2C12 cells were fixed and permeabilized with 4% paraformaldehyde followed by 0.5% Triton X-100. Fixed cells were stained with 2 μg/mL Anti-Desmin antibody,Mouse monoclonal, Clone: DE-U-10 (Cat. No. SAB4200707). The antibody was developed using Goat Anti-Mouse IgG, Cy3™ conjugate. Cells were counterstained with DAPI (blue) to stain nuclei.
Immunoblotting Whole extract of mouse C2C12 cells was separated on SDS-PAGE and probed with Anti-Desmin antibody, Mouse monoclonal, Clone: DE-U-10 (Cat. No. SAB4200707). The antibody was developed using Goat Anti-Mouse IgG-Peroxidase (Cat. No. A2304) and a chemiluminescent substrate. Lanes 1. 4 μg/mL antibody 2. 2 μg/mL antibody 3. 1 μg/mL antibody 4. 0.5 μg/mL antibody 5. 0.25 μg/mL antibody 6. Negative control: without first antibody

Biochem/physiol Actions: Mutations is the desmin gene (known as desminopathy or DRM) are associated with several human diseases such as atrophy and facial muscle weakness, cardiomyopathy, cardiac arrhythmias and restrictive heart failure and are characterized by intracellular desmin aggregates. Anti-Desmin antibodies can be implemented for cancer research and diagnostics since elevated levels of desmin characterize several types of muscle tissue tumors, such as leiomyomas and rhabdomyosarcomas. The antibody may also be used for meat research measurements.

General description: Anti-Desmin antibody, Mouse monoclonal (mouse IgG1 isotype) is derived from the hybridoma DE-U-10 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from an immunized BALB/C mouse. Desmin, a major intermediate filament protein in skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle cells. It is predominantly localised to filamentous extrasarcomeric cytoskeleton, which links neighbouring myofibrils and connects the myofibrillar apparatus with the subsarcolemmal cytoskeleton, myonuclei and mitochondria.
Immunogen: Desmin purified from pig stomach
Physical form: Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
