AGO2 is also known as protein argonaute 2, argonaute RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) catalytic component 2, eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2C 2 (eIF2C2) and PAZ Piwi domain protein (PPD). Argonaute 2 (AGO2) belongs to the Argonaute family. It is located on human chromosome 8q24. Ago proteins localize to the cytoplasm of somatic cells and are concentrated in cytoplasmic processing bodies. |
