Biochem/physiol Actions: RPS6KA5 (ribosomal protein S6 kinase A5)/mitogen- and stress-activated kinase 1 (MSK1) acts as a connector between extracellular signals and gene expression. It helps in the phosphorylation of chromatin protein histone H3 and high mobility group 14 (HMG14) . MSK1 plays a key role in the development of hormone-dependent breast cancer.
Features and Benefits: Evaluate our antibodies with complete peace of mind. If the antibody does not perform in your application, we will issue a full credit or replacement antibody. Learn more.
General description: RPS6KA5 (ribosomal protein S6 kinase A5)/mitogen- and stress-activated kinase 1 (MSK1) is a nuclear serine/threonine protein kinase , that is located on human chromosome 14q32. It is a dual kinase domain protein.
General description: Serine/threonine kinase required for the mitogen or stress-induced phosphorylation of the transcription factors CREB (cAMP response element-binding protein) and ATF1 (activating transcription factor-1). Essential role in the control of RELA transcriptional activity in response to TNF. Directly represses transcription via phosphorylation of 'Ser-1' of histone H2A. Phosphorylates 'Ser-10' of histone H3 in response to mitogenics, stress stimuli and epidemal growth-factor (EGF), which results in the transcriptional activation of several immediate early genes, including proto-oncogenes c-fos/FOS and c-jun/JUN. May also phosphorylate 'Ser-28' of histone H3. Mediates the mitogen- and stress-induced phosphorylation of high mobility group protein 14 (HMG-14).
Immunogen: Peptide sequence around aa. 374-378 (G-Y-S-F-V), according to the protein RPS6KA5.
Physical form: Solution in phosphate-buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol
