| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Regulation of nuclear factor kappa B subunit 2 (NFKB2) includes cytoplasmic-nuclear shuttling and its transcriptional activity. NF-κB plays a key role in regulating the immune response and apoptotic processes. It is necessary for combating diseases like arthritis, autoimmune diseases and asthma. Mutations in NFKB2 impairs post translational processing of p100 preventing nuclear translocation of p52. This leads to common variable immunodeficiency and adrenal insufficiency. Mutation also affects canonical and non-canonical pathway of NFKB2 signalling and causes autosomal dominant primary antibody deficiency (PAD). chromosomal aberrations in C-terminal region of NFKB2 is associated lymphoid malignancies. |
| Biochem/physiol Actions: | The antibody detects endogenous level of NF-κB p100 only when phosphorylated at serine 872. |

| General description: | Nuclear factor kappa B subunit 2 (NFKB2) encodes the nuclear factor kappa B2 (NF-κB), a nuclear transcription factor. NF-κB is evolutionarily highly conserved. In human chromosome, the gene NFKB2 is localized on 10q24. |
| Immunogen: | Peptide sequence around phosphorylation site of serine872(S-Q-S(p)-V-E) derived from Human NF-κB p100 . |
| Physical form: | Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. |
