GCP-2 plays an important role in mucosal chronic inflammatory conditions like inflammatory bowel disease or chronic rhinosinusitis. |

It belongs to the ELR+ CXC family. It is synthesized by mesenchymal cells like fibroblasts and micro and macrovascular endothelial cells. |
