| Biochem/physiol Actions: | SAE1 (SUMOs (small ubiquitin-like modifiers) 1 activating enzyme subunit 1)/ AOS1 transcription is induced by Myc via direct binding to canonical E-Boxes sequences present near the SAE1 transcription start site. SAE1 and SAE2/ UBA2 complex plays a crucial role in the tumorigenicity of Myc-dependent cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. SAE1/SAE2 heterodimer complex catalyzes the conjugation of SUMO-1 to a variety of cellular substrates via ATP-dependent reaction, where the first step involves C-terminal adenylation of glycine residues of SUMO-1 and second step involves thioester bond formation between C-terminal glycine of SUMO-1 and a cysteine residue in SAE2. |

| General description: | E1 ubiquitin-activating protein AOS1 also known as SAE1 (SUMOs (small ubiquitin-like modifiers) 1 activating enzyme subunit 1) is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 19. Human ASO1 is expressed throughout nuclei apart from nucleoli. The protein expression is elevated in S phase and decreased in G2 phase of cell cycle. |
| Immunogen: | The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human AOS1. Immunogen Range: 221-270 |
| Physical form: | Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. |
