| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2B (CDKN2B) plays a key role in the cell cycle and senescence. It participates in the differentiation of the hematopoietic cell. CDKN2B gene is involved in the pathogenesis of T-acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL). Homozygous deletion of the CDKN2B gene or p15INK4B locus on chromosome results in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). Silencing of p15INK4B is associated with myelodysplastic syndromes, leukemia, and myeloproliferative diseases. |
