Biochem/physiol Actions: LAMA1 (laminin subunit α 1) participates in several diseases like cancer, infections, inflammatory diseases and autoimmune disorders. Mutations in LAMA1 result in cerebellar dysplasia and cysts with and without retinal dystrophy. LAMA1 is also essential in the assembly of basement membrane and early growth of embryo.
