Upregulation of the gene is observed in salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Deletion of NOTCH2 offers tumor cells resistance to chemotherapeutic agents such as 5-fluorouracil. NOTCH2 plays an important role in the regulation of liver development. The NOTCH2 gene is associated with the development of diabetic nephropathy. |
