| General description: | The PRKN (parkin RBR E3 ubiquitin protein ligase) gene, also referred to as PARK2, is mapped to human chromosome 6q25.2–27. It is one of the largest genes in the human genome spanning a length of 1.53Mb. The gene consists of 12 exons and encodes a protein of 465 amino acids. It is broadly expressed in several tissues, including neurons, astrocytes, lung, colon and testes. Anti-Parkin Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Parkin protein. |
