| Biochem/physiol Actions: | IKK1/IKKα (I-κ-B kinase 1) modulates nuclear factor κ-B (NF-κB) signaling, that is required for lymphoid organogenesis and adaptive immunity. IκB kinase α (IKKα) plays a major role in human skin cancer. This gene also controls terminal differentiation and multiplication of keratinocytes. IKKβ acts as the master regulator of cell survival and the inflammatory response. |

| General description: | CHUK (conserved helix-loop-helix ubiquitous kinase) is located on human chromosome 10q24. IKK1/IKK-α has three ordered protein domains, namely, a kinase domain (KD), a ubiquitin-like domain (ULD) and a scaffold dimerization domain (SDD). IKKB (inhibitor of nuclear factor κ B kinase subunit β) is mapped to human chromosome 8p11. IKBKB codes for IκB kinase 2 (IKK2/IKKβ). IKK1 and IKK2 has a canonical MAP kinase kinase (MAPKK) activation loop motif. |
| Immunogen: | The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human IKK-alpha around the phosphorylation site of Ser177. Immunogen Range: 151-200 |
| Physical form: | Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. |
