This protein is required for the growth of embryos. This gene controls proliferation, differentiation, cell death, adhesion, migration, as well as the response to stress and many metabolic pathways. Polymorphism in MAPK14/p38a leads to deletion or overproduction of myelosuppressive cytokines and result in certain bone marrow failure syndromes. |
