General description: Nucleophosmin (NPM) is a nucleolar protein for regulating ribosome biosynthesis and centrosome duplication. The NPM gene is frequently rearranged in various types of lymphomas such as anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK). A C-terminal mutation occurs in acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) and prevents localization to the nucleolus, resulting in cytoplasmic distribution. NPM is frequently overexpressed in diverse solid tumors such as carcinoma of the lung and breast, colon, prostate, stomach, lymphoid and myeloid tumors.
General description: The NPM1 (nucleophosmin 1) gene is mapped to human chromosome 5q35.1. Nucleophosmin is a predominant phospho-nucleolar protein, that is mostly, localized to the nucleus or cytoplasm.
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide derived from human nucleophosmin.
Physical form: 0.1 ml rabbit monoclonal antibody purified by protein A/G in PBS/1% BSA buffer pH 7.6 with less than 0.1% sodium azide.
