Biochem/physiol Actions:	Pristinamycin shows anti-bacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria like Staphylococcus spp. and Streptococcus spp. It has been used to treat bone and prosthetic-related osteoarticular infections. Pristinamycin displays antimicrobial activity against macrolide-resistant Mycoplasma genitalium infection.
General description:	Pristinamycin is an oral streptogramin antibiotic. It consists of two antimicrobial drugs approximately 30% of pristinamycin IA and 70% of pristinamycin IIA. Pristinamycin is primarily sourced from gram-positive bacteria like streptomycetes. It is a secondary metabolite and can also be produced from the genus Xenorhabdus.
