Biochem/physiol Actions: Ac-Leu-Glu-His-Asp-al, or Ac-LEHD-CHO, is a cell-permeable tetrapeptide aldehyde. It is an inhibitor of caspase-9. Its target of action has been proposed to be the mitochondrial pathway of apoptosis. Ac-LEHD-CHO has also been postulated to prevent cleavage of caspase-8, and partly to prevent cleavage of caspase-3.
