| Application: | Viniferin has been used to study its effect on melanin production in melanocyte cultures. |
| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Protein Huntingtin (Htt) mutation, reduces the SIRT3 (sirtuin 3) expression. Viniferin is known to offer protection against Htt mutation by reducing oxidative stress and preventing SIRT3 depletion, which is involved in energy metabolism. In vitro analysis showed that viniferin derivative could prevent amyloid β peptide aggregation. |
