Biochem/physiol Actions: | Palomid 529 (P529) is a PI3K/Akt/mTOR inhibitor, which is unique in that it causes the dissociation of both the TORC1 and TORC2 complexes and inhibits both Akt and mTOR signaling. Palomid 529 has been shown to inhibit tumor growth, angiogenesis, and vascular permeability. Palomid 529 (P529) inhibited glioblastoma growth, penetrating the blood brain barrier with little affinity for ATP-binding cassette (ABC) drug efflux transporters ABCB1 and ABCG2. Palomid 529 has also shown promise as a possible treatment for macular degeneration and keloid disease. |
