Biochem/physiol Actions: FIT-039 is a potent and selective cyclin-dependent kinase 9 (CDK9) inhibitor that binds to the ATP -binding pocket of CDK9 and inhibits the kinase activity of P-TEFb complex. FIT-039 inhibits replication of herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1), HSV-2, human adenovirus, and human cytomegalovirus in cultured cells. FIT-039 ointment inhibits formation of skin legion in a mice HSV-1 infection model.
