| General description: | The cyclin B1 (CCNB1) gene is mapped to human chromosome 5q13.2. The gene codes for a 62kDa protein containing a classical cyclin box domain. CCNB1 shuttles between the nucleus and cytoplasm until prophase begins. It is a member of the cyclin family and is expressed at low levels in normal cells. CDK1 (cyclin-dependent kinase 1) belongs to the Ser/Thr protein kinase family. The gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 10q21. |
