Immunoprecipitation
mTOR was immunoprecipitated from a whole extract of human HEK 293T cells using Anti-mTOR (Cat. No. T2949). The IP samples were separated on SDS-PAGE and blotted with a control anti-rat mTOR. The antibody was developed with Anti-Rabbit IgG, Peroxidase (Cat. No. A0545) and chemiluminescent substrate.
Lane 1: 1.1 μg of Anti-mTOR immunoprecipitates mTOR from a RIPA extract of 300 μg of 293T cells.
Lane 2: negative control (pre-immune serum was used instead of the Anti-mTOR antibody)
Immunoblotting
Whole cell extract of rat brain was separated on SDS-PAGE and blotted with Anti-mTOR (Cat. No. T2949) at a dilution of 1:4,000. The antibody was developed with Anti-Rabbit IgG, Peroxidase (Cat. No. A0545) and chemiluminescent substrate.

General description: mTOR is an evolutionary conserved serine/threonine kinase that belongs to the phosphoinositol kinase-related kinase (PIKK) family. This kinase regulates cell growth by initiation of translation in response to nutrients such as amino acids (primarily leucine), growth factors, mitogens and insulin. Translational initiation is mediated by mTOR through S6K1 activation and 4E-BP1 inhibition. mTOR may also modulate several cellular functions such as actin organization, secretion, membrane trafficking, protein degradation, protein kinase C signaling, tRNA synthesis and ribosome biogenesis. Anti-mTOR antibody is specific for human, mouse and rat mTOR (289 kDa).
Immunogen: synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues 2433-2450 of human mTOR.
Immunogen: The corresponding sequence is identical in mouse and differs by one amino acid in rat.
Packaging: 200 μL in glass bottle
Physical form: Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 1% BSA and 15 mM sodium azide.
Specificity: Anti-mTOR (FRAP) is produced using a peptide corresponding to amino acids 2433-2450 of human mTOR. The corresponding sequence is identical in mouse and differs by one amino acid in rat. The antibody specifically recognizes human, mouse and rat mTOR (289 kDa) and is suitable for immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation and immunofluorescence.
