| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Transferrin facilitates the transfer of iron to erythron and peripheral tissues. Mutations in this gene is associated with atransferrinemia. Transferrin is required for fetal development. It is non immunogenic and transferrin-conjugated drugs inhibits cardiotoxicity and drug resistance. |
