| Biochem/physiol Actions: | E-twenty-six (Ets) variant gene 5 (ETV5) gene is responsible for the survival, proliferation, and self-renewal of spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs). ETV5 protein plays a role in mediating glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) signaling and induces several genes required for regulating SSC fate. It is involved in limb development and regulates epithelial-mesenchymal transition in several cancer cells. ETV5 protein binds to the conserved GGAA/T motif and regulates gene expression. |
