Biochem/physiol Actions: Trefoil factor family (TFF) members play a vital role in mucus stabilization and stimulation of normal epithelial cell restitution during wound healing via mitogenic and antiapoptotic activities. TFF1 prevents anoikis, chemicals or bad-induced apoptosis by decreasing the caspase-3, caspase-6, caspase-8, and caspase-9 activities. TFF1 functions as a tumor suppressor in gastric cancer, whereas it acts as a tumor promoter in mucinous ovarian cancer via regulating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. Elevated level of TFF1 is observed in patients suffering from chronic kidney disease (CKD). TFF1 might function as a biomarker for early detection of CKD.

General description: Trefoil factor 1(TFF1) is a member of trefoil factor family (TFF) and is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 21q22.3. It consists of trefoil motif, which is a 40-amino acid domain with three conserved disulfides. TFF1 is expressed and secreted by epithelial cells in the stomach or colon mucous membrane.
Immunogen: TFF1 (AAH32811.1, 1 a.a. ~ 84 a.a) full-length recombinant protein with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26 KDa.
