Biochem/physiol Actions: Neurogenin 3 (NEUROG3) is required for all intestinal enteroendocrine cells. It participates in the differentiation of endocrine pancreas. This protein is also essential to induce islet cell maturation and to maintain islet function.

General description: Neurogenin 3 (NEUROG3) is also termed as Ngn3. This protein belongs to the subfamily of basic-helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factors. It is located on human chromosome 10q.
General description: Neurogenin-3 (NEUROG3) is expressed in endocrine progenitor cells and is required for endocrine cell development in the pancreas and intestine (Wang et al., 2006 [PubMed 16855267]). It belongs to a family of basic helix-loop-helix transcription factors involved in the determination of neural precursor cells in the neuroectoderm (Gradwohl et al., 2000 [PubMed 10677506]).[supplied by OMIM]
Immunogen: NEUROG3 (NP_066279, 1 a.a. ~ 101 a.a) partial recombinant protein with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26 KDa.
