Biochem/physiol Actions: | X-ray repair cross-complementing group 1 (XRCC1) is a molecular scaffold protein that coordinates the assembly of repair complexes at damaged sites. XRCC has been shown to physically interact with several enzymes known to be involved in the repair of SSBs, including DNA ligase IIIa, DNA polymerase b, APE1, polynucleotide kinase (PNK), poly (ADP-ribose), polymerases 1 and 2 (PARP-1 and 2) and others. It participates in the DNA base excision repair (BER) pathway. |

General description: | X-ray repair cross-complementing group 1 (XRCC1) is a testis enriched protein. It is considered as a DNA repair gene. |
Immunogen: | synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 615-633 of human XRCC1, conjugated to KLH via an N-terminal added cysteine residue. The immunizing peptide is identical in mouse and rat. |
Physical form: | Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide. |
