| Application: | Yeast Nitrogen Base With Amino Acids has been used: • in the ZYP-31 media preparation for E.coli • in synthetic dextrose (SD) medium to evaluate the influence of nitrogen source • to culture Candida utilis for the production of 13C-labeled yeast extract as internal standard • in the preparation of imaging medium Suitable for use in classifying yeasts based on carbon requirements. Also suitable for general growth of yeasts with the addition of a carbon source (usually glucose).Yeast nitrogen base with amino acids is a satisfactory nitrogen source for general growth media. Contains all essential nutrients required for the growth of yeasts except carbohydrate. |

| Preparation Note: | Make a 10x concentrated stock solution by stirring to suspend 6.7g yeast nitrogen base powder and 5 g glucose in 100 mL water. Warm if necessary to aid solubilization. Filter sterilize and store at 2-8°C. Dilute the 10x concentrated stock to a 1x working solution by adding 100mL concentrated stock to 900mL sterile water. |
