Application: | Anti-Recoverin, clone 1K10 ZooMAb, Cat. No. ZRB1448, is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody that specifically targets Recoverin and is tested for use in Affinity Binding Assay, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry, and Western Blotting. |
Application: | Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected Recoverin in human retina tissue sections. Immunofluorescence Analysis: 1:500 dilution from a representative lot detected Recoverin in human retina tissue sections. Affinity Binding Assay: A representative lot of this antibody bound recombinant recoverin protein with a KD of 6.0 x 10-9 in an affinity binding assay. Immunocytochemistry Analysis: 1:100 dilution of this antibody detected Recoverin in Y79 cells. Note: Actual optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user as specimens, and experimental conditions may vary with the end user |

Avoid repeated freeze-thaws. |
Target description: | Recoverin (UniProt P35243; also known as Cancer-associated retinopathy antigen, Cancer-associated retinopathy protein, Protein CAR) is encoded by the RCVRN (also known as RCV1) gene (Gene ID 5957) in human. The photoreceptor protein recoverin is a member of the EF-hand neuronal calcium sensor (NCS) proteins. It acts as a calcium sensor and regulates phototransduction of cone and rod photoreceptor cells. It modulates light sensitivity of cone photoreceptor in dark and dim conditions. It improves rod photoreceptor sensitivity in dim light and mediates response of rod photoreceptors to facilitate detection of change and motion in bright light. In response to high Ca2+ levels induced by low light levels, it prolongs RHO/rhodopsin activation in rod photoreceptor cells by binding to and inhibiting G-protein-coupled receptor kinase 1 (GRK1)-mediated phosphorylation of RHO/rhodopsin. Recoverin is composed of four EF-hand domains (aa 25-60, 61-96, 97-132, 147-182), with the second and third EF-hand regions mediating low- and high-affinity calcium binding, respectively. This ZooMAb recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals. |
