It is composed of a copolymer of N-acetylchondrosamine and d-glucuronic acid, linked alternately between β-1,4 and β-1,3. The glycosaminoglycan is mostly composed of the sodium salt of the sulfate ester of N-acetylchondrosamine, and is primarily mono sulfated in position 4, and less so in position 6. |
