General description: Nicotinic acid acts as an antilipolytic drug in adipose tissue, and is commonly used for hyperlipoproteinaemia and pellagra.
General description: Nicotinic acid is a water soluble, vitamin belonging to B complex group of vitamins, which can be used as a broad spectrum lipid lowering drug. Its mode of action basically involves the inhibition of the hormone-sensitive triglyceride lipase and thereby, decreasing the lipolysis in adipose tissue.
